This admission notice is for Morning (Regular), Self-Supporting (Afternoon/ Evening/ Replica) Programs of academic year 2011. The admissions are offered in the BS/ B. Ed/ BBIT/ B.Com/ BBA/ BFA/ B. Arch./ LLB (5-Years) or equivalent degrees/ MA/ M. Sc /MPA/ MBA/M.Com/ MB Econ/ MLS / MIOM/ MBSM/ LLB (3-Years) or equivalent/ Certificate/ Diploma/Graduate Diploma/ M. Sc (Engg)/ MS/ M. Phil/ 1½ Years MBA & M.Com/ M. Arch/ Ph. D of Graduation Masters and Doctorate.

Eligibility Criteria for BS or Equivalent Admissions

The candidates holding F.A/F. Sc or equivalent qualification and age not more than 24 years are eligible for admission in BS / B. Sc (Engg.) / BBIT / Pharm-D / B.Com / BBA / BFA / LLB (5 years) / B. Arch / or equivalent . 2 marks will be deducted from percent academic marks for each late session to a maximum of two sessions. Clearance of Pre-Admission Departmental Entry Test is mandatory for the admission against merit as well as reserved seats only in the following Departments:-
i) Institute of Biochemistry & Biotechnology ii) College of Information Technology
iii) Department of Microbiology & Molecular Genetics iv) College of Art & Design Genetics
v) Centre for Clinical Psychology vi) Institute of Agricultural Sciences
vii) Punjab University Law College viii) College of Banking & Finance

Eligibility Criteria  for MA,MSc or Equivalent Admissions

The candidates holding B.A/B. Sc (14-Years of Education) or equivalent qualification and age not more than
26 years are eligible for admission in MA/ M. Sc/ MPA/ MBA/ M.Com/ MB Econ/ MLS / MIOM/ MBSM/ LLB (3-Years) or equivalent. 2 marks will be deducted from percent academic marks for each late session to a maximum of two sessions. 50% seats are reserved for graduates from Punjab University and rest 50% shall be filled on open merit basis. Clearance of Pre-Admission Departmental Entry Test is mandatory for the admission against merit as well as reserved seats only in the following Departments:-
i) Department of Microbiology & Molecular Genetics ii) College of Statistical & Actuarial Sciences
iii) Department of Applied Psychology iv) College of Information Technology
v) Department of English vi) College of Banking & Finance
vii) Institute of Biochemistry & Biotechnology viii) Institute of Social & Cultural Studies
ix) College of Earth & Environmental Sciences x) Department of Sports Sciences& Physical
xi) Institute of Quality & Technology Management xii) College of Art & Design
For admission in BS or equivalent/ MA/M. Sc or equivalent, the merit shall be worked out from 70% academics and 30% Entry Test performance basis for the above mentioned Departments/Centres/ Institutes/Colleges. The merit shall also be worked out from 60% academics and 40% Entry Test on performance basis for College of Art & Design only. Testimonials (not necessarily attested) should be attached with the Application Form. Incomplete forms shall not be entertained.

Eligibility for MS/ M. Phil or Equivalent/M. Sc (Engg.) /Ph. D

The applicant must have sixteen year education (BS/ BBIT/ B.Com/ BBA/ MA/ M. Sc /MPA/ MBA/ M.Com/ MLS or equivalent) with 2.5/4.0 CGPA or 1 st division for admission in M. Sc (Engg)/ MS/ M. Phil/ 1½ Year MBA & M.Com/ M. Arch or equivalent and eighteen years education (MS/ M. Phil/ [MPA/ M.Com/ MBA (18 year education)], M. Sc (Engg) or equivalent with 3.0/4.0 CGPA or 1 st division for admission in Ph.D. Clearance of Pre-Admission Departmental Entry Test is mandatory for admission in M. Sc (Engg)/ MS/ M. Phil/ 1½ Year MBA & M.Com/ M. Arch or equivalent/ Ph.D.
Further the candidates for admission in the M. Sc (Engg)/ MS/ M. Phil/ 1½ Year MBA & M.Com/ M. Arch or equivalent must have passed/qualified GAT-General conducted by National Testing Service (NTS) by obtaining a minimum of 50% marks prior to admission.
The candidates for admission in Ph. D must have qualified the following prior to admission:-

1. Subject test conducted by NTS in the area of specialization.

OR

GRE Subject Test conducted by ETS, USA

2. Subject test conducted by departmental committee if subject test at (1) above is not available.

The requirement of % marks or GRE percentile score for the qualification of subject test for admission in Ph. D is as under:-
a) Subject test conducted by NTS 60% marks
b) GRE conducted by ETS, USA 50 percentile score
c) Subject test conducted by the department 70% marks

Admission On other Seats

Admissions on Sports Seat:
1.
2% seats have been reserved for admission in BS or equivalent and MA/ M. Sc or equivalent only on Sports basis. Outstanding players who have played at least at Pakistan Inter Board or Inter University level shall be considered to take part in the trials; other shall not be considered for sports trials.
2.
The sports basis admission form must be obtained and submitted in the concerned department within due date.
No separate intimation letter will be sent to the candidate by Punjab University Sports Department for Sports Trials.
Please contact Punjab University Sports Department (Old Campus) for the date, time and venue for the sports trial.

Admission on Reserved Seats other than Sports Seats:
The details of all reserved seats are available at the Admission desk of each Department/Centre/ Institute/College.

Availability of Admission Forms:
Prescribed Admissions Forms for all programs i.e., BS or equivalent/ M.A, M. Sc or equivalent/ MS /M. Phil/ M. Sc (Engg.)/1½ Year MBA & M.Com/ Ph.D. shall be available from Monday, 05-09-2011 from the respective Departments/Centres/Institutes/Colleges as well as from the following branches of the Habib Bank Ltd.:-

Admission forms shall also be available on the website of University of the Punjab (CLICK HERE) for download purpose. The downloaded forms shall be submitted to the relevant department till the last date of form submission. Admission Forms complete in all respects must reach the concerned department by Wednesday, 17-09-2011. In case of IBIT, admission forms must be submitted online. All relevant information will be available at the Admission desk of each Department/Centre/Institute/College. University is not bound to provide hostel accommodation to each and every admitted student. Limited accommodation shall be allotted on merit basis.
NOTE: The admission offices ofall the Departments/ Centres/ Institutes/ Colleges will remain open on Saturday and Sunday during the course of Admission 2011.
