PU Academic Software Center

Punjab University IT center is providing NSSA (National Student Software Accessibility) Web Portal services with Collaboration of HEC & Microsoft to all Faculty Staff and Students of the University. The entire Faculty and Students of Punjab University will now be able to get Microsoft software catalog FREE OF COST through NSSA Web Portal.

NSSA is a web-based management system which enables you to make MSDNAA (Microsoft Software Developers Network Academic Alliance) software easily available to your students and faculty. In other way, this is your University’s software distribution website. You can register & download available software.

Registration Procedure:

IT Centre has created accounts for all faculty staff. You will get an email from “University of the Punjab – Information Technology Centre [[email protected]]” having subject An Account has been created for you for registration. There will be a link in that email, using that you will be able to get registered by providing your basic personal information and new password.

After registration you will be able to download any available Microsoft Software from that website free of cost by clicking on START SHOPING.

These admissions are introduced by Faculty of Engineering and Emerging Technology of Punjab University. The Faculty of Engineering and Emerging Technology of Punjab University is recognized by PEC ( Pakistan Engineering Council). PRE-ADMISSION ENTRY TEST for ADMISSION TO B.SC. (ENGG) DEGREE COURSES SESSION 2011-2012 – FACULTY OF ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY
All the prospective candidates who intend to apply for admission to the 4-year B.Sc.(Engg.) degree courses offered at the Faculty of Engineering & Technology, University of the Punjab, Lahore for the session 2011-2012 are hereby informed as under.
The Candidates are required to appear in the PRE-ADMISSION ENTRY TEST for the year 2011 , to be conducted by the UNIVERSITY OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY (U.E.T.) LAHORE , on 24TH July, 2011 . The Entry Test is mandatory for admission. 
The Faculty of Engineering & Technology will ACCEPT and consider VALID the Certified Result Card of Combined Entry Test 2011 issued by U.E.T. for the determination of academic merit for the above-mentioned forthcoming admission on F.Sc./B.Sc./Diploma(DAE) basis in Regular Morning Programme/Self-Supporting Evening Programme against Open Academic Merit seats as well as all categories of reserved seats EXCEPT for the Nominees of Provincial Government/Federal Government/GHQ, and those reserved for Foreign Students. The Entry Test marks will carry 30 percent weightage based on 70-30 formula to be adopted for determining the merit for the said admission. Candidate not appearing in the above-mentioned Entry Test will be considered ineligible for admission. 
Faculty of Engineering & Technology, University of the Punjab , will announce, through leading national newspapers, the sale of prospectus alongwith prescribed application form and schedule for admission to B.Sc.(Engg) Courses for the session 2011-2012 soon after the Combined Entry Test conducted by UET.
The below mentioned 4-year B.Sc.(Engg.) degree courses will be offered by the Faculty of Engineering & Technology, University of the Punjab at its three constituent institutions :

The General Eligibility Requirements for admission to the above-mentioned courses will be as under.
• Domicile : Punjab
• Examination Passing Sessions : 2009, 2010 & Spring 2011
• Qualification:
F.Sc. basis : F.Sc. (Pre-Engineering) or equivalent examination having obtained at least 60% marks.
B.Sc. basis : B.Sc. or equivalent examination preceded by F.Sc.(Pre-Engineering) and having obtained at least 60% marks with any of the following subject combinations : (i) Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (ii) Physics, Chemistry, Statistics (iii) Physics, Mathematics A & B Course (iv) Physics, Mathematics, Statistics (v) Chemistry, Mathematics A & B Course (vi)Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics.
Relevant Diploma(DAE) basis : Diploma of Associate Engineer (DAE) from Board of Technical Education, having obtained 60% marks, in any of the following disciplines : (i)Chemical Technology (ii)Chemical Processing Technology (iii)Petroleum Technology (iv)Petrochemical (v)Welding Technology (vi)Foundry & Pattern Making (vii) Electrical Technology/Electronics.
• Age Limit : For F.Sc. & Diploma basis, not above 24 years ; and for B.Sc. basis, not above 26 years , as on 24-07-2011 .
• Must have appeared in the mandatory Combined Entry Test conducted by the University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore for the year 2011 .
