Lahore School of Economics has announced the LSE Undergraduate admissions 2013 and LSE Graduate Admissions 2013. Details about the Application form, Registration, Interviews, Academic Programs, Fee structure, Merit lists and Scholarship of LSE is given here. Every year many candidate apply for admissions in LSE undergraduate and graduate programs. LSE is one of the excellent private institute offering the studies of Economics and Business studies.

Admissions in LSE are on the basis of Entrance test and Interview. More details about the Undergraduate and Graduate Admissions 2013 of LSE is given below.

Undergraduate Admissions

Entrance Requirements: Admission into the Lahore School’s Bachelors Programmes is regulated through an entrance examination and interview process. Entrance requirements for the Bachelors Programmes are: (i) Matric with at least 735 marks and FA/FSc with at least 660 marks (ii) American High School Diploma with at least 80% marks (iii) International Baccalaureate with at least 30 or above points out of 45 (iv) GCE ‘O’ Level passes in 6 subjects with minimum 3 B’s and A Level with an average of C in 3 principal subjects. No credit in A Level will be given for any Advanced Subsidiary or General Paper or any other half credit course. Candidates awaiting final result can also apply subject to the condition that they submit their A Level / FA / FSc and High School result soon after their declaration in August.

Students who do not meet the initial admissions criteria (i.e. 735 marks in matric or 3Bs in O-Level) and expect to meet the final criteria (i..e. 660 marks in intermediate or average of C in 3 principal subjects in A-level) are also required to fill the online form. A special entrance examination and interview process will be held for these candidates after the declaration of A-Level/intermediate results.

Application forms: Available from 1st January till July 3rd 2013.

Deadline for application submission: Wednesday, 3rd July 2013.

Entry tests: will be held at Burki Campus on Sunday, 7th July 2013.

Interviews: Monday, 22nd July to Friday, 26th July 2013 at the City Campus.

Graduate Admissions

The Lahore School of Economics admits students into its Graduate Programmes once a year in September. A four year B.A/B.Sc/B.Com/BBA (Hons) degree with a CGPA of 3.0 /1st Division is a necessary pre-requisite for regular admission into the Graduate Programmes. However, students who have appeared for their final Undergraduate examinations are also eligible to apply for the Graduate programmes. Candidates who have appeared privately in B.A/ B.Sc/B.Com/BBA (Hons) are not eligible to apply. All students, regardless of degrees and academic backgrounds will be required to take the Lahore School entrance exam. Successful candidates would have to submit copies of their B.A/B.Sc/B.Com/BBA (Hons) result along with original certificates to the admissions office for verification in order to get an unconditional offer letter after declaration of their results. Admission forms may be obtained from the Lahore School of Economics City Campus.

Application forms: Available from January 2013.

Deadline for application submission: Wednesday, 10th July 2013.

Entry tests will be held at Burki Campus on Saturday, 13th July 2013.

Interviews: Monday, 22nd July to Friday, 26th July 2013 at the City Campus. Admission forms may be obtained from the Lahore School of Economics, City Campus.

Applications downloaded from the Lahore School’s web-site require both an application form fee of Rs. 1500/- and an application processing fee of Rs. 1,500/- to be attached to the application form. GIKI Admissions 2013 Procedure Overview

GIKI announces its undergraduate admissions in April or May of every year. This year the admission process will start from 28th April 2013 with the availability of Prospectus. Then the online form submission for admissions will start from 28th April 2013. The last date for the admission submission is 20th June 2013. After the last date of form submission GIKI will provide the admit cards for the Admission test (GIKI Entry Test 2013). The entry test will held on 7th July 2013. After that Admission test result will be announced and merit lists will be displayed. The admitted candidates will then start their first semester on 26th August 2013.

Overview of PIEAS Admissions 2013 Procedure.

PIEAS offers admissions in the undergraduate programs on the basis of its written test called PIEAS Entry test or on the basis of SAT score. First of all students submit the application form online or by post in April 2013, when PIEAS advertise its application form availability. The students who have applied will then appear in PIEAS Entry test 2013 on 16th June 2013. PIEAS will then announce the Entry test result and update the final merit list of Selected candidates in end of July 2013. Classes of undergraduate programs will commence from 9th September 2013.

PIEAS Entry Test 2013

Admissions in Undergraduate programs of PIEAS are offered on the basis of PIEAS Written admission test, known as PIEAS Entry Test. PIEAS Entry test 2013 will be conducted on 16th June 2013. The Entry test is multiple choice question based test. The score of this entry test plays an important role on the decision of admission, as the weight-age of this entry test in selection is 60%. Eligibility Criteria

At least 60% marks or equivalent in both Matriculation/O-level and Intermediate/A-level examinations with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as major subjects. Those waiting for their results may also apply. However, the intermediate/A-level result with at least 60% marks or equivalent is required at the time of joining the BS program.

Check NUST Entry Test Dates 2013 and NUST Entry Test 2013 registration or application form. From this year 2013 NUST has revised the policies for the NET (NUST Entrance Test). In previous years the candidate can appear in the NUST entrance test once a year only, but this year a candidate can appear in NUST Computer based entry test 2013 more than once and can apply for the admission on the basis of its best entrance test score. In this way students can improve their score and have much better chance of Admission in NUST.

The new system of UG admissions at NUST is being implemented in the year 2013. The salient features of the new system are given below:

  • The process of entrance test is delinked from admission process.
  • During an admission cycle, candidates can appear in entrance test more than once to improve their score, and apply for admission separately on the basis of best score when applications are invited tentatively in May-June.
  • Computer based entrance tests for all disciplines will be held in multiple sessions at NUST Campus Islamabad according to the following schedule:
  • First Session (NET 1)       –    April-May
  • Second Session (NET 2) –    June-July
    • Paper based entrance test will be conducted in Karachi and Quetta only once in July.
    • For June-July session, candidates will have an option either to appear in Paper Based Test at Karachi and Quetta or Computer Based Test at Islamabad.
    • For computer-based NET, candidates can choose the date and session of test depending on availability of space.
    • Candidates who have cleared FSc (Part-I) or O level exam with minimum 60 % marks (or equivalent) are eligible to apply. For detailed criteria for eligibility please visit Undergraduate Admission section.
    • General Awareness portion in the NET has been replaced with Intelligence test questions having same weighting. i.e. 5%
  • Processing fee for entrance test and admission will be charged separately according to following structure:

  • Admission Processing Fee (per programme) – Rs.1000/- or USD 12/-
  • For SAT Candidates

  •  The result of NET will remain valid for the current admission cycle only which will culminate in Fall 2013.

NUST Admission Procedure 2013 Overview

To apply for the admissions 2013 in NUST students first have to appear in Entry test conducted by NUST called NUST Entry test (NET) 2013. In 2013 the admission application process and Entrance Test is separated, now in 2013 students can appear in NUST Computer based entry test more than once if he/she wanted to improve their Entry test score. NUST Online Admission Registration Procedure 2013

After the announcement of all NUST Entry test results students will apply for admission in NUST on the basis of their NET Result. The admission procedure is as follows:

  1. You will apply for admission from on this link (link will be available soon) by filling up the form for admission using NET (NUST Entrance Test) registration number.
  2. Candidate will use the User Name and Password already issued for NET.
  3. Admission application form will only be available to those candidates who have taken NET earlier.
  4. Basic candidate data given in NET form will be automatically picked by Admission application. The same will not be editable.
  5. Best NET Score of the candidate in relevant discipline will automatically be picked up by the system for merit generation.
  6. Candidates can apply for admission in all undergraduate programmes on the basis of NET according to eligibility criteria.
  7. Then Candidates can enter their preference of choices after knowing their merit positions once for all. No application for change of preferences will be entertained thereafter.
  8. Closing merit of session 2012 for different programmes will be available on the website for guidance.
  9. Candidates can Re-Login to their respective account and print the Fee invoice for depositing of processing fee from My Account page.
  10. Candidates can deposit the fee with any branch of HBL or Standard Chartered Bank (Pakistan) Ltd. Fee submission will be confirmed through e-mail within 10 days.

Eligibility criteria for applying in Engineering Programmes

Minimum of 60% marks each in Matric (Science Group) and FSc or equivalent exams (pre engineering group). Matric / O level / Equivalent qualification (Science Group) and FSc / A level / equivalent qualification (Pre-Engineering Group) with minimum 60% marks.

Eligibility criteria for applying in BS Computer Science

A minimum of 60% marks each in Matric(Science Group) and FSc Pre-Engineering or Computer Science group or equivalent exam. Matric / O level / Equivalent qualification (Science Group) and FSc / A level / equivalent qualification (Pre-Engineering OR Computer Science Group) with minimum 60% marks.

Eligibility criteria for applying in Medical Programmes

Minimum of 60% marks each in Matric(Science Group) and FSc or equivalent exams (pre-medical group). Matric / O level / Equivalent qualification (Science Group) and FSc / A level / equivalent qualification (Pre-Medical Group) with minimum 60% marks.

Eligibility criteria for applying in Architecture

Minimum of 60% marks each in Matric (Science Group) and FSc or equivalent exams (with Mathematics & Physics). Matric / O level / Equivalent qualification (Science Group) and FSc / A level / equivalent qualification (Pre-Engineering OR Computer Science Group OR any combination including Physics & Mathematics) with minimum 60% marks.

Eligibility criteria for applying in Applied Biosciences

Minimum of 60% marks each in Matric and FSc or equivalent exams (premedical group). Matric / O level / Equivalent qualification (Science Group) and FSc / A level / equivalent qualification (Pre-Medical Group) with minimum 60% marks.

Eligibility criteria for applying in Business Studies / Social Sciences

A minimum of 60% marks each in Matric and Intermediate or equivalent exam. Matric / O level / Equivalent qualification and FA / FSc / A level / equivalent qualification with minimum 60% marks.

Eligibility criteria for applying in BS Mathematics

A minimum of 60% marks each in Matric / O level / Equivalent qualification, and intermediate or an equivalent qualification including mathematics with minimum 60% marks.

International Students

NUST has some SAT specific seats in undergraduate programmes for international candidates. Desirous candidates can avail the facility accordingly, provided they meet the specified eligibility criteria and are willing to pay tuition fee and allied charges of the category.
Merit list of international students is prepared separately.
Cases of the international students, finally selected for admission, will be referred to Higher Education Commission and relevant government department(s) for final approval as per policy in vogue.
Hostel accommodation to international students is guaranteed.

Ineligibility Criteria

Candidates with any of the following deficiencies are NOT eligible to apply for admission in UG programmes:
  • Having secured less than 60% marks in Matric and FA / FSc.
  • Having failed / not appeared in any subject in FA / FSc Part-I / II.
  • Having secured less than 60% marks in O/A level as per the equivalence certificate issued by IBCC.
  • In case of O & A level / equivalent foreign qualification, those not in possession of valid O level or equivalent qualification certificate issued by IBCC at the time of applying to NUST.
  • Female candidates are not eligible to apply for Aerospace, Avionics and Civil Engineering at Risalpur campuses.
  • Diploma holders are not eligible to apply for any undergraduate programme.

Medical Fitness
Selected candidates will be required to provide Medical Certificate for joining the relevant programme. Medical Certificate Form will be emailed / sent to the selected candidates along with the Provisional Selection Letter for endorsement from any government hospital or a registered medical practitioner.
Rejection of Application
The University may reject any application for admission without assigning any reason.

NUST  Scholarships/Financial Assistance

15% of top merit position holders in NUST entry test with respect to total seats in respective disciplines will be awarded waiver of tuition fee for the 1st semester (6 months) except in Medical sciences where these will be awarded waiver of tuition fee for 1st academic year on joining the discipline.

All those students who continue to show good academic performance and maintain a GPA of 3.5 and above out of 4.0 (in case of all UG programmes except Medical Sciences) and 70% and above (in case of Medical) will continue to get financial assistance in each semester/academic year within the range of 15-75% of tuition fee.
