GIKI Admissions 2013, Undergraduate Engineering Admission

Every year GIKI offers admissions in Undergraduate Engineering programs. Here we will provide info about GIKI Undergraduate Admissions 2013 including prospectus, application process, GIKI Entry Test 2013, GIKI undergraduate merit lists and all other aspects of admission. Note that we are only facilitating students with the admission information, all the admission process will be dealt with the University itself. Thousands of intermediate students from all over the Pakistan apply for admissions every year in undergraduate engineering programs of Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute. GIKI is one of the top most engineering institute of Pakistan.

GIKI Admissions 2013 Procedure Overview

GIKI announces its undergraduate admissions in April or May of every year. This year the admission process will start from 28th April 2013 with the availability of Prospectus. Then the online form submission for admissions will start from 28th April 2013. The last date for the admission submission is 20th June 2013. After the last date of form submission GIKI will provide the admit cards for the Admission test (GIKI Entry Test 2013). The entry test will held on 7th July 2013. After that Admission test result will be announced and merit lists will be displayed. The admitted candidates will then start their first semester on 26th August 2013.

  • Create an account (register yourself) .  https://admission.giki.edu.pk
  • Login and submit online application form
  • Prepare a package of the following documents:
  • Admit Card (printed online)
  • Application Form (printed online)
  • Optional Scholarship Form (printed online)
  • Proof of payment: Rs. 2500 (for local) + Rs. 500 (if applying for financial assistance) / US $170 (overseas)
  • Photocopies of Academic Documents
  • Two additional passport size photographs

1. HSSC (Pre-Engineering i.e Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry)

3. Three A-level in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and O-level in eight subjects (English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Computer Science, Urdu, Islamic Studies & Pakistan Studies) for local applicants and in five required subjects for those applying from abroad.

4. American or Canadian High School Diploma or International Baccalaureate Diploma with Mathematics (with Calculus), Physics and Chemistry

5. B.Sc. (Mathematics & Physics)

6. Three year Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in relevant technology from a Pakistani Board of Technical Education

60% marks or Equivalent Grades in Mathematics, Physics and Overall
Note: Applicant with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry background can apply for all programs however those having studied Computer Science / Computer Studies in lieu of Chemistry at their HSSC or A-levels, can only apply for Computer Engineering or Computer Science.

NUST Entry Test 2013, Dates and Registration

Check NUST Entry Test Dates 2013 and NUST Entry Test 2013 registration or application form. From this year 2013 NUST has revised the policies for the NET (NUST Entrance Test). In previous years the candidate can appear in the NUST entrance test once a year only, but this year a candidate can appear in NUST Computer based entry test 2013 more than once and can apply for the admission on the basis of its best entrance test score. In this way students can improve their score and have much better chance of Admission in NUST.

The new system of UG admissions at NUST is being implemented in the year 2013. The salient features of the new system are given below:

  • The process of entrance test is delinked from admission process.
  • During an admission cycle, candidates can appear in entrance test more than once to improve their score, and apply for admission separately on the basis of best score when applications are invited tentatively in May-June.
  • Computer based entrance tests for all disciplines will be held in multiple sessions at NUST Campus Islamabad according to the following schedule:
  • First Session (NET 1)       –    April-May
  • Second Session (NET 2) –    June-July
    • Paper based entrance test will be conducted in Karachi and Quetta only once in July.
    • For June-July session, candidates will have an option either to appear in Paper Based Test at Karachi and Quetta or Computer Based Test at Islamabad.
    • For computer-based NET, candidates can choose the date and session of test depending on availability of space.
    • Candidates who have cleared FSc (Part-I) or O level exam with minimum 60 % marks (or equivalent) are eligible to apply. For detailed criteria for eligibility please visit Undergraduate Admission section.
    • General Awareness portion in the NET has been replaced with Intelligence test questions having same weighting. i.e. 5%
  • Processing fee for entrance test and admission will be charged separately according to following structure:
  • For NUST Enrance Test
  • Entrance Test Fee (per exam):                            –  Rs. 2000/- or USD 25/-
  • Admission Processing Fee (per programme) – Rs.1000/- or USD 12/-
  • For SAT Candidates
  • SAT National                                                           –   Rs.3000/- or USD 35/-
  • SAT International                                                    –   Rs.6000/- or USD 70/-
  •  The result of NET will remain valid for the current admission cycle only which will culminate in Fall 2013.

Merit Calculation

The final aggregate is prepared according to the following weight-age

  • SSC or Equivalent qualification = 10%
  • Adjusted HSc. marks or equivalent level marks= 40%
  • Entrance Test Marks = 50%

EXAMPLE:
A candidate has obtained marks:

i.     SSC or Equivalent qualification 650/850 or 76.5%

ii.    Adjusted HSc. marks or equivalent level marks   870/1100 or 79.1%

iii.     Entrance Test Marks  460/800 or 57.5 % His/ Her merit will be calculated as follows:
%age mark Weightage     =     Weightage

Factor Marks

(a) Weightage for SSC     =    76.5 x 0.1     =    7.65

(b) Weight age for F.Sc     =    79.1 x 0.4     =    31.64

(c) Weight age for Entrance Test     =    57.5 x 0.5     =    28.75

Merit score of the candidate    =     a+b+c = 7.65+31.64+28.75    =     68.04

Final calculation in percentage will be rounded up to two decimal points.

Ayub Medical College Admission 2012, Ayub Medical College Merit List 2012

MBBS Admissions 2012 in Ayub Medical College Abbottabad will commence in August 2012. The details about the merit list, Admission forms and important dates are available here.  MBBS admissions in Ayub Medical College will be on the basis of Medical Entry test 2012 which was jointly conducted by ETEA (Education Testing and Evaluation Agency) and KMU (Khyber Medical University).  The admissions in Ayub Medical college is done by the combined admission procedure which is for all the public sector Medical and Dental Colleges of KPK (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa).

The merit list will be displayed after the conclusion of the admission procedure. The provisional merit list will be displayed on 20th September 2012. Students are advised to check this merit list for any error. Submission of Claims and objection regarding the provisional merit list must be reported on 21st September 2012 and 22nd September 2012. After that the final merit list will be available on 25th September 2012.
