Chalmers University of Technology will award a number of scholarships funded by the Chalmers Foundation and these are available to all citizens from non-EU/EEA countries who are liable to pay tuition fees for Swedish university education. The exact number of scholarships is yet to be decided by the Chalmers Foundation.

Selection:
The selection is based on the applicants’ relative academic excellence, which primarily includes weighted average grade but also home university´s stature (including position on global ranking lists) and priority order of the application for Chalmers Master´s programmes.

Fields of Study:
The field(s) of study to which the scholarships will be awarded is determined annually by the University President. For the academic year 2012/13 the field of study is unrestricted, but it will be distributed according to targeted areas of education determined by the university management, based on the total number of applicants per each area of education from previous academic year.

Available To:

  • Citizens from non-EU/EEA countries who are required to pay tuition fees for Swedish University education.
  • 1st year Master’s Programme applicants

Amount:

  • A 75% reduction of the tuition fees (4 semesters / 2 year programme)
  • Students who excel during their first year of studies may receive an increased scholarship reduction, which covers 85% of the tuition fee during the second and final year of studies

National Refinery Limited

National Refinery Limited ( NRL ) was incorporated on August 19, 1963 as a public limited company. Government of Pakistan took over the management of NRL under the Economic Reforms Order, 1972 under the Ministry of Production, which was exercising control through its shareholding in State Petroleum Refining and Petrochemical Corporation (PERAC). The Government of Pakistan had decided to place the National Refinery Limited under the administrative control of Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Resources in November 1998
The refinery complex of the Company comprises of three refineries, consisting of two lube refineries and one fuel refinery. First Lube Refinery commissioned in 1966 with designed capacity of 539,700 tons per annum of Crude Processing and 76,200 tones per annum of Lube Base Oils. The Budget 2012 for fiscal year 2012-2013 is going to be announced on 1st June 2012. The Federal Budget 2012-2013 will be presented in the National Assembly by the Finance Minister of Pakistan Dr. Abdul Hafeez Sheikh on June 1st. In the History of Pakistan this will be the first time that the same democratic government will the present the National budget for the fifth time.

Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani declared that One lac jobs will be created in this new budget. It is stated that special measures will be adopted to combat with the energy crisis, construction of water reservoirs and important infrastructure across the country. These all new plans and proposals will be exposed in the speech of 1st June.

The budget of 2012-2013 is estimated with the outlay of Rs 3 Trillion which will be presented after its formal approval from the Federal cabinet. The government is ensuring that the this new budget will be a relief for the peoples of Pakistan in this situation of hiking prices.

Government officials claim that no new taxes will be imposed in this budget. It is also expected that there will be upto 20% increase in the salaries of the Government employee. HEC likely to get Rs48.5 billion in this budget.

Government is also claiming that there will be reduction in the price of crude oil products including Petrol and CNG. But recently (on 31st May 2012 at evening ) according to the news media these price reduction proposals are withdrawn. Now the actual myth about the prices of petroleum products will be revealed on 1st June.

Recently the decrement in the value if Rupee is having a mass impact on the Budget of this year.

Scholarships for Pakistani Students:

National ICT R&D Fund is offering fully funded scholarships for talented students from rural/non-metropolitan areas of Pakistan with the objective to develop human resource capacity in ICT fields in Pakistan. The National ICT Scholarship Program 2011 (NICTSP 2011) will provide fully funded 4 year undergraduate degree scholarships in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) related disciplines in the top ICT universities of Pakistan, and hence enhance capacity in the best ICT related educational institutions.

This program is run with the financial collaboration of Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) of Government of Pakistan.

Please note the following regarding National ICT Scholarship Program (NICTSP) for this year:

 

  • It is the responsibility of the interested students to stay informed about NICTSP participating university selection criteria, entrance exam dates and take the entrance exams for selected universities on their own to be potentially eligible for the scholarship. Due to shortage of time a modified scholarship program for the year 2011 will be conducted.

 

  • Interested students who are from schools/colleges listed on this webpage should prepare for the entrance exam of participating universities of their choice on their own.
  • This year there will be no “Training of Teachers” or “Foundation Training” of students.

 

  • Also, no Teacher’s kits or Student’s kits will be prepared or provided to teachers and students respectively.

For year 2011 there will be no ICT Scholarship Award Test. Students are advised to take admission in Participating Universities, of their choice, on their own.

There is no Student Registration Form to be filled at this instance. Students are advised to ensure admission in one of the Participating Universities. Student Registration process shall be initiated later.

The Government of Punjab introduce the online admission system “Online College Applications System (OCAS)” recently for the intermediate admissions 2011. OCAS supports Intermediate applications (F.Sc, F.A, ICS etc) for academic year 2011-12 for students who want to apply on Open Merit Quota.  Students residing in Punjab except the Federal board can apply for the Admissions in the Colleges of Punjab province. The admissions are allowed for the students whose Matric result have announced and they passed their matriculation exams 2011. The selection in the colleges are on open merit bases. Students can apply in Multiple colleges and Multiple programs also. Students can select the College and Program in which they want admission. This Fee for this process is only Rs 25/- and can be paid in any branch of Bank of Punjab.

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
Benefits
5 x 50% tuition fee Scholarships each per annum, available for a maximum of four years, for any Undergraduate course in Engineering or Information Technology offered at the University of Sydney (subject to the recipient maintaining satisfactory academic progress each year).

No living allowance is payable.

Criteria for Eligibility
– Applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification or an international senior secondary qualification accepted by the University with an Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) of at least 98* or equivalent.
– Students who have already commenced tertiary studies, or students transferring with credit exemptions and/or advanced standing are not eligible. Students completing Foundation Studies Programs are also not eligible.

* For further information on equivalents to Australian Year 12 qualifications and a table showing standard academic requirements for some of these examinations relative to ATAR scores see.

POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS
Benefits
5 x 50% tuition fee Scholarships each, available as a one-off award for any Postgraduate Coursework program in Engineering or Information Technology offered at the University of Sydney.

No living allowance is payable.

Criteria for Eligibility
– Applicants must have completed the equivalent of an Australian Bachelor degree qualification with a minimum high distinction average as based on the Australian grading system. Students who have already commenced Postgraduate studies, or students transferring from other Postgraduate programs are not eligible.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE
– No separate application for a Scholarship is necessary. An application for admission to the University of Sydney in 2012 will constitute an application for a Scholarship. All applications meeting the selection and eligibility criteria will be automatically considered.
– The deadline for receipt of applications and complete supporting documentation (academic and English language proficiency results) is 31 October 2011 for Semester 1, 2012, and 30 April 2012 (for Semester 2, 2012). Applications received after these deadlines will not be considered for the Scholarship.

SELECTION CRITERIA
– Selection will be based strictly on academic merit as per the University’s admission requirements. Selection will be based on actual results (academic and English language proficiency). Predicted/forecast results will not be considered.
– Only applicants with firm, unconditional offers of admission will be considered.
– Selection will be made by the University’s Scholarship Selection Committee, whose decision will be final. No appeals will be entertained.
– Successful candidates will be informed in December 2011 (Semester 1, 2012) and June 2012 (Semester 2. 2012). Successful candidates applying through UAC will be informed in January 2012.

CONDITIONS
Undergraduate Scholarship recipients will need to maintain satisfactory academic progress, which, for the purposes of retaining the Scholarship, is defined as maintaining a credit average (at least 65%) or more each year. Failure to do so may result in the Scholarship being terminated.
Successful candidates:
– must not be in receipt of any other tuition scholarship from the University of Sydney;
– must commence study in 2012 – commencement may not be deferred;
– will be required to pay for their own airfares to Sydney, living expenses, study materials, text books, any ancillary fees (if applicable) and Overseas Student Health Cover each year;
– are also responsible for paying the balance of the tuition fees each year;
– are required to enrol as full-time international students and must maintain their international student status on a full-time basis throughout their enrolment at the University of Sydney; and
– may not be entitled to a ‘Leave of Absence’ during the duration of the Scholarship, unless it is due to extenuating circumstances.

The University of Sydney reserves the right to make changes to this Scholarship program without notice and at its discretion.

Application Submission

All international students who have made an application to study at Bond University (by the scholarship closing date for each semester) will be considered for an International Student Scholarship.
It is recommended that when students complete a Bond University Application Form, they submit a personal statement (outlining why you should be awarded a Bond scholarship), references, resume and certified copies of other relevant documentation to assist in supporting your application.

As part of the selection process, all shortlisted applicants will be required to participate in a telephone interview.

Selections for each intake of scholarship students are assessed based on academic merit. Should your submission not be successful at the time of application, your details will be reassessed for future semester intakes up until the point of acceptance.
