Apply in HEC Commonwealth Scholarship 2019 in UK for Masters and PhD. Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the United Kingdom has announced the scholarships for the Master level programs in different fields given below. These scholarships are offered to the students of developing countries by the participating institutes and universities of the UK. The aim of this scholarship is to benefit the bright needy students from the postgraduate studies and participate in the development of their home countries. Awards made under this scheme are jointly funded by the Department for International Development (DFID), as part of the UK international development program to developing countries, and participating institutions in the UK. The scheme is administered by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC), whose secretariat is provided by The Association of Commonwealth Universities, Woburn House, 20-24 Tavistock Square, London, WC1H 9HF, UK. For 2020 62 universities have offered to support the scholarships by contributing the stipend for the students from their own resources, or those which the university has been able to generate from elsewhere.

Level of Study:

Awards are for taught Masters & Ph.D. courses only. No awards will be made for undergraduate or doctoral study.

Eligibililty Criteria

To apply for these scholarships, you must:

  • Be a Pakistani/AJK national & permanent resident of Pakistan/AJK. No dual nationality will be accepted.
  • Age must be between 17 years to 25 years for Bachelor’s programme & Arabic language teaching institute, must be less than 30 years for masters and less than 35 years for PhD applicant as on closing date of application process.
  • The Female students should be accompanied by a Mahram (A male legal guard) according to the regulations; this mahram should have a scholarship or have regular residence permit (Iqama) or be employed by a Saudi employer in need of his services.

  • For madrassa Qualification or O/A level education, equivalence from IBCC and/or HEC is and language proficiency certificate will required where applicable.
  • Not availing any other scholarships currently from anywhere else in the world.
  • Applicants must fulfil other requirements set by concerned university/Saudi’s Govt.
  • The students must not been suspended from Kingdom earlier due to any criminal activity.​

HOW TO APPLY

  • Apply online at HEC website:  https://eportal.hec.gov.pk/loa . After registering and filling your profile, please select “Learning Opportunities Abroad” under “Scholarship and Grant” menu in left hand side panel of the online portal. After submission of the application, get its printed copy to be signed by the candidate.
  • During application process, select only one programme of study from 23 universities of Saudia Arabia through their website and provide the same information in HEC online application where required.
  • For your convenience, also prepare two sets of HEC/IBCC attested academic documents viz. transcripts and degrees, health certificate, police clearance certificate, for madrassa degree or O/A level education equivalence from Inter Boards Chairman Committee, Islamabad is required, copies of CNIC along with HEC application form and retain it with yourself.

Avancez Scholarships Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden: Chalmers University of Technology offering scholarships for the selected Master programs(2 years program) in Swedish Universities to all citizens from non-EU/EEA countries who are liable to pay tuition fees for Swedish university education. National ICT R&D Fund is offering fully funded scholarships for talented students from rural/non-metropolitan areas of Pakistan with the objective to develop human resource capacity in ICT fields in Pakistan. The National ICT Scholarship Program 2011 (NICTSP 2011) will provide fully funded 4 year undergraduate degree scholarships in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) related disciplines in the top ICT universities of Pakistan, and hence enhance capacity in the best ICT related educational institutions.

This program is run with the financial collaboration of Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) of Government of Pakistan.

Please note the following regarding National ICT Scholarship Program (NICTSP) for this year:

 

  • It is the responsibility of the interested students to stay informed about NICTSP participating university selection criteria, entrance exam dates and take the entrance exams for selected universities on their own to be potentially eligible for the scholarship. Due to shortage of time a modified scholarship program for the year 2011 will be conducted.

– Applicants must have completed an Australian Year 12 qualification or an international senior secondary qualification accepted by the University with an Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) of at least 98* or equivalent.
– Students who have already commenced tertiary studies, or students transferring with credit exemptions and/or advanced standing are not eligible. Students completing Foundation Studies Programs are also not eligible.

POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS

Criteria for Eligibility
– Applicants must have completed the equivalent of an Australian Bachelor degree qualification with a minimum high distinction average as based on the Australian grading system. Students who have already commenced Postgraduate studies, or students transferring from other Postgraduate programs are not eligible.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE
– No separate application for a Scholarship is necessary. An application for admission to the University of Sydney in 2012 will constitute an application for a Scholarship. All applications meeting the selection and eligibility criteria will be automatically considered.
– The deadline for receipt of applications and complete supporting documentation (academic and English language proficiency results) is 31 October 2011 for Semester 1, 2012, and 30 April 2012 (for Semester 2, 2012). Applications received after these deadlines will not be considered for the Scholarship.

SELECTION CRITERIA
– Selection will be based strictly on academic merit as per the University’s admission requirements. Selection will be based on actual results (academic and English language proficiency). Predicted/forecast results will not be considered.
– Only applicants with firm, unconditional offers of admission will be considered.
– Selection will be made by the University’s Scholarship Selection Committee, whose decision will be final. No appeals will be entertained.
– Successful candidates will be informed in December 2011 (Semester 1, 2012) and June 2012 (Semester 2. 2012). Successful candidates applying through UAC will be informed in January 2012.

CONDITIONS
Undergraduate Scholarship recipients will need to maintain satisfactory academic progress, which, for the purposes of retaining the Scholarship, is defined as maintaining a credit average (at least 65%) or more each year. Failure to do so may result in the Scholarship being terminated.
Successful candidates:
– must not be in receipt of any other tuition scholarship from the University of Sydney;
– must commence study in 2012 – commencement may not be deferred;
– will be required to pay for their own airfares to Sydney, living expenses, study materials, text books, any ancillary fees (if applicable) and Overseas Student Health Cover each year;
– are also responsible for paying the balance of the tuition fees each year;
– are required to enrol as full-time international students and must maintain their international student status on a full-time basis throughout their enrolment at the University of Sydney; and
– may not be entitled to a ‘Leave of Absence’ during the duration of the Scholarship, unless it is due to extenuating circumstances.

The University of Sydney reserves the right to make changes to this Scholarship program without notice and at its discretion.

Application Submission

All international students who have made an application to study at Bond University (by the scholarship closing date for each semester) will be considered for an International Student Scholarship.
