Admissions in Undergraduate programs will be on the basis of following categories

  • Open Merit
  • Provincial Quotas
  • FATA Reserved Seats
  • Reciprocal Seats reserved in other Provinces
  • Non-Subsidized Scheme
  • Diploma holders (DAE)/B.Tech reserved quota.

Application Procedure

  • Separate application forms are available for each category.
  • FATA candidates can apply on their reserved seats only.
  • Candidates applying against all other provincial quota seats are required to submit separate application forms available from the Directorate of Admissions, UET, Main Campus, Peshawar.

Candidates who are Hafiz-e-Quran are required to appear before the Admission Committee for oral test in the Conference Hall, UET Main Campus, Peshawar, on 06th August, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. for which no separate call letters will be issued.

Important Note

Undergraduate Prospectus & application forms are available at United Bank Ltd University Campus Branch, Peshawar and from the offices of the Coordinators of all satellite campuses i.e. Mardan, Abbottabad, Bannu & Kohat, on cash payment of Rs. 2,500/-. Application procedure for other Provinces/reserved quotas is given in the Undergraduate Prospectus. Application forms, complete in all respect, should reach the Directorate of Admissions, UET, Main Campus, Peshawar, on or before 1st August 2012 upto 4:00 p.m.

* Please do not wait till the last date. Submit application forms as early as possible to avoid long queues.

* Incomplete applications, and those received after 01/08/2012 shall be rejected.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must have appeared in the entrance test conducted by ETEA, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa held 08.07.2012.
  • Candidates must have passed Intermediate Pre-Engineering or equivalent examination, by obtaining at least sixty percent (60%) unadjusted marks with the following combination of subjects:-
    • Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry (for all Engineering Programmes)
    • Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science (for Computer System Engineering and Computer Software Engineering).
  • Candidates having three years post matric diploma (DAE) or B.Tech with at least sixty percent (60%) unadjusted marks are eligible to apply against their reserved seats in respective disciplines only. They are INELIGIBLE to apply against open merit seats.

Determination of Merit

Merit of the applicant will be prepared according to the following weight-age:

10% weight-age to SSC Examination

40% weight-age to Intermediate or equivalent examination (adjusted marks)

50% weight-age to Percent marks in entrance test

General Instructions

The application along with the required documents should be submitted as early as possible. Please do not wait for the last date.
As soon as the process of selection is complete, the merit list will be notified showing the percentage of the applicants admitted in different disciplines against different categories.
All documents to be attached with the Application Form (F-I) should be attested by a class-I gazetted officer of the government or a class-A officer of this University.

Required Documents

  • Domicile of Punjab Province is MUST (with latest photograph)
  • In case candidate’s photo graph is missing on domicile, the candidate must have to show (F.Sc + Matric ) Original Result Cards.
  • Attested copy of domicile must be attached with the Entry Test Form.
  • Attested copy of Matric Result Card.
  • Attested photocopy of F.Sc. Result Card/Certificate is MUST.
  • Two passport size photographs attested from back side are essential.

Eligibility Requirements

An applicant for admission to BSc Degree Course in Engineering (under any category) fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

  • He should have passed the Intermediate (Pre-Engg) Examination with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry from a Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education of Pakistan or an equivalent examination so recognized by the university.
    Note: For admission to Computer, Software, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering the candidate having passed F.Sc. with Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science as major subjects will also be eligible.
  • He should have passed the examination (up to the latest annual examintion) on the basis of which he seeks admission.
  • He should have obtained at least 60% marks in examination on the basis of which he seeks admission. Marks for NCC and Hifz-e-Quran, where applicable, shall be added only for determination of merit and not towards eligibility.
  • He should be bonafide resident of the area from where he seeks admission.
  • He should meet standards of physique and eyesight laid down in the medical certificate F-III.
  • He should have appeared in the Entry Test for the respective Session arranged by the University.

Equivalent Examination:

The university recognizes the following examinations as equivalent to the Intermediate (PreEngg) Examination with Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics of the Pakistani Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education:

  • Intermediate (Pre-engineering) Examination of the Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education, Azad Kashmir;
  • Cambridge Overseas Higher School Certificate with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics;
  • British General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level) with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics;
  • F.Sc. (Pre-medical) with Mathematics as an additional subject.
  • American High School Graduation Diploma (HSG Diploma)
  • An equivalent certificate or diploma accepted by IBCC (Inter Board Chairmen Committee).

 

Note: Such applicants are required to attach an equivalence certificate issued by the IBCC, with the application for admission.

Medicine & Bio-sciences

FSc (Pre-medical) from any Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education or an equivalent qualification like Overseas High School Certificate/British General Certificate of Education (Advanced Level)/International Baccalaureate/Advanced Placement with Biology, Chemistry and Physics as approved by PM&DC. Any other combination will not be accepted. All non-FSc stream candidates to obtain equivalence certificates from IBCC to apply for the programmes.

BS Computer Science

  • On the web-link www.ugadmission.nust.edu.pk, the candidate will be allotted a password to access the application form, after providing valid e-mail address.
  • Recent photograph of candidate is required to be uploaded with the application form.
  • Candidates can apply for admission to all undergraduate programmes on the basis of NUST Entrance Test or SAT Score or both, according to eligibility criteria.
  • Candidates should enter the relevant programmes according to their preference. Request for change of preference will not be accepted at a later stage.
  • Candidates applying on SAT basis have to enter their SAT Subject test scores at link availabale on My Account page after submission of application form. Those who will not enter their SAT scores by due date will be assigned zero weightage.
  • Candidates can deposit the fee either through credit card or make an online deposit, in any branch of HBL, after taking printout of the Challan Form.
  • Information regarding Admit Card containing exact time and centre for NUST Entrance Test will be notified to the eligible candidates through e-mail.

Admit Cards will be retained at the test centre for further verification.

Note: Candidates are advised to avoid misrepresentation of facts which may lead to cancellation of their candidature at any stage.

Equivalence Certificate

Candidates submitting A Level, 12th Grade, International Baccalaureate or Advanced Placement certificates are also required to submit equivalence certificates, obtained from the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC).   • On opening the web-link www.ugadmission.nust.edu.pk, the candidate will be allotted a password to access the application form, after providing valid e-mail address.
  • Recent photograph of candidate is required to be uploaded with the application form.
  • Candidates can apply for admission to all undergraduate programmes on the basis of NUST Entrance Test or SAT Score or both, according to eligibility criteria.
  • Candidates applying for Business Studies/Social Sciences (Economics, Mass Communication and Public Administration) should enter the relevant programmes according to their preference. Request for change of preference will not be accepted at a later stage.
  • Candidates applying on SAT-basis must enter their scores at the link available on My Account page after submission of application form. Those who do not enter the SAT scores by due date will be assigned zero weightage.
  • Candidates can deposit the fee either through credit card or make an online deposit, in any branch of HBL, after taking printout of the Challan Form.
  • Information regarding Admit Card containing exact time and centre for NUST Entrance Test will be notified to the eligible candidates through e-mail.
  • Candidates have to print their Admit Cards from NUST website and bring the same with them to the test centre along with original CNIC/Passport or original Matric/ equivalent certificate.

Admit Cards will be retained at the test centre for further verification.

Note: Candidates are advised to avoid misrepresentation of facts which may lead to cancellation of their candidature at any stage.

Equivalence Certificate

Candidates submitting A Level, 12 Grade, International Baccalaureate or Advanced Placement certificates are also required to submit equivalence certificates, obtained from the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC). Offices of the (IBCC) are located in all provincial capitals. The address of IBCC office at Islamabad is as under:

NUST Entrance Test (NET)

Paper-based written entrance test of the following subjects will be held for:

The test will be based on intermediate level education, and is intended to evaluate factual knowledge, comprehension and its application.

Rechecking of NET Papers

Rechecking of Entrance Test papers (only MCQs) may be requested in writing within 15 days of the declaration of result, along with a fee of Rs 500/- in the form of a bank draft/pay order in favour of NUST.

Provision of Entrance Test Results

Desirous candidates may obtain the result of their test, on written request, along with a fee of Rs 200/- per copy in the form of a bank draft/pay order in favour of NUST.
