Pre-Admission Test

1. All eligible candidates shall be required to appear in the Pre-Admission Test at Public School, Latifabad No.3 Hyderabad on Sunday the 14th October, 2012 at 10.00 am. The Test will be conducted in the subjects of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English from the candidates of HSC Pre-Engineering Group and Diploma Holders and in the subjects of Mathematics, Physics, Computer and English from the candidates of General Science Group. The candidates failing to appear in the Test will automatically stand disqualified for admission.

2. Admit Slip for Pre-Admission Test will be sent under Courier service. The admit Slip (original) issued by the University should be produced by the candidate at the time of the test.

3. If any candidate do not receive his/her Admit Slip he/she may contact for the same to the undersigned from 10-10-2012 to 13-10-2012 during office hours.

4. The candidates will be required to report at the Examination Centre for Test atleast one  hour before the start of the pre-admission test.

3.   B.E. in Computer Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering & Telecommunication Engineering. Higher Secondary School Certificate H.S.C. Part-II in (Pre-Engineering/General Science Group) having at least B-Grade 60% aggregate marks under Regular and Self Financing Scheme.

Admission Application for Regular Candidates
The procedure for admission is as follows:
1. The Admission Application Form can be filled online by following the instructions. 
2. The online system assigns a unique Application Reference Number (ARN) to each applicant, which must be noted for later use.
The applicant should then visit the campus, where the admission test is to be taken, along with the following:
a. Two recently taken (3 cm x 2 cm) colour photographs
b. Copy of CNIC or Form-B issued by NADRA (National Database Registration Authority).
c. Application processing fee of Rs 1,000. This fee includes admission test fee for taking one test.
Additional Fee of Rs 500 is payable for each type of Admission Test. For example, for taking both the BBA and the BS tests, or for taking both the MS (CS) and MS (SPM) tests.
d. Required Educational Documents:
For Undergraduate Admission:
i) Original and copy of Matric/O-level Certificate.
ii) Original and copy of Intermediate/A-level Certificate or Roll Number Slip.
For Graduate Admission:
i) Original and copy of all educational Ceritificates/Degrees.
3. The applicant will be required to sign a declaration confirming that the information provided in the Application Form by him/her is correct.
4. Upon payment of the Application Processing and Admission Test Fee(s), the applicant shall receive a duly signed ADMIT CARD bearing the applicant’s TEST ROLL NUMBER and a copy of the Prospectus.

Selection on the basis of NU Admission Test
Merit is determined by assigning 30% weight to marks obtained in Intermediate (part-I) (or an equivalent exam).
For those whose Intermediate results are not available, their Matriculation marks are considered.
Marks obtained in the NU Online Admission Test are assigned the remaining 70% weight.
Selection on the basis of SAT score
Combined score of 1,500 or more in the SAT-I examination

BS (Accounting & Finance)

Eligibility
At least 60% marks in Matriculation or an equivalent examination AND
Passed the HSSC or an equivalent examination
Selection Criteria
Selection on the basis of NTS-NAT Marks
Those who have taken NAT-IE, NAT-ICS, NAT-IGS or NAT-ICOM examination can apply for admission to the BS(Accounting & Finance)
Selection on the basis of NU Admission Test
Merit is determined by assigning 30% weight to marks obtained in Intermediate (part-I) (or an equivalent exam).
For those whose Intermediate results are not available, their Matriculation marks are considered.
Marks obtained in the NU Online Admission Test are assigned the remaining 70% weight.

BS (Computer Science)

At least 50% marks in the HSSC or an equivalent examination. Must have studied Mathematics at HSSC level.

Those who have taken NAT-IE or NAT-ICS examination can apply for admission to the BS (Computer Science)
Selection on the basis of NU Admission Test
Merit is determined by assigning 30% weight to marks obtained in Intermediate (part-I) (or an equivalent exam).
For those whose Intermediate results are not available, their Matriculation marks are considered.
Marks obtained in the NU Online Admission Test are assigned the remaining 70% weight.

All of those candidates of Engineering / BS Math who have deposited admission processing fee but for any reason have not been able to download Admit Cards should contact Admissions Director latest by 3:00 pm on 18 July 2012 for inclusion of their names for last session of entry test on 19 July 2012.

“For admission in UG programmes, prospective candidates must be in possession of either Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) or Form’ B’ without which the application for registration will not be accepted.”

Medicine & Bio-sciences

Note: a. Candidates of FA/FSc stream can apply for NUST Entrance Test on the basis of FA/FSc Part-I but confirmation of their admission is subject to provision of FA/FSc certificate or Detailed Marks Certificate (with minimum of 60% aggregate marks) before the commencement of relevent programme of study.

NUST Entrance Test (NET)

Paper-based written entrance test of the following subjects will be held for:

Rechecking of NET Papers

Rechecking of Entrance Test papers (only MCQs) may be requested in writing within 15 days of the declaration of result, along with a fee of Rs 500/- in the form of a bank draft/pay order in favour of NUST.

Provision of Entrance Test Results

Desirous candidates may obtain the result of their test, on written request, along with a fee of Rs 200/- per copy in the form of a bank draft/pay order in favour of NUST.

PIEAS BS Admissions 2012

PIEAS announces the BS Undergraduate Admission Schedule 2012. The Admission 2012 in BS programs (2012-2016) of PIEAS will start in April 2012. PIEAS (Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences) is a renowned institute for BS Engineering courses. Every year many students compete for admission in this institute. Following are the BS Engineering programs which are offered at PIEAS.

There are two methods for submitting forms for Admissions in PIEAS Online and by Post. The instructions for both methods are given below:

Instructions for Online Form Submission

1. Scan your recent passport size colour photograph taken at a photo studio at 300 dpi. Your application will be rejected if the uploaded photograph does not meet the following requirements:

  • Your full face must be clearly visible.
  • Background must be plain white or off-white. (plain blue is acceptable)
  • The photograph must be scanned clearly and must not be blurry or pixelated.
  • Uploaded photograph must be in JPEG (.jpg) file format.
  • Size of the uploaded file must be less than 500 KB (Kilobytes).
  • Uploaded photograph dimensions should be around 500 x 400 pixels.
  • Scan the same photograph that you will be sending along with Original Challan Form (and other documents)
2. Fill your information carefully and proof read it before submitting your Online Application.
3. Make sure that the Picture uploaded by you is a scanned Passport Size Picture taken at a photo studio and your face is clearly visible in it. If the uploaded picture does not fulfill the required criteria for printing on Roll Number Slip / Answers Sheet, your application will be rejected.
4. Click the Submit Button only once, application submission can sometimes take few minutes if you are using a dialup connection, so please be patient.
5. After application submission, Bank Challan Form will be displayed along with instructions, Print this Challan Form to submit your application processing fee.
6. You can deposit application processing fee in any Online Branch of Allied Bank Limited (ABL).
7. Instructions for Printed Application Submission

1. All the entries in the form must be made in block letters or typed and no column should be left blank.
2. There will be no bank service charges for online submission of processing fee through any branch of Allied Bank Limited (ABL).
3. Application processing fee must be deposited in the online Account No. 0010002084620041 (Title of Account: PIEAS-APF), Allied Bank Limited (ABL), Cabinet Division Branch (Code No. 0793), Islamabad.
4. Preferably apply online; application forms are available at PIEAS website. For online submission, processing fee is Rs. 750/- only.

Eligibility Criteria

At least 60% marks or equivalent in both Matriculation/O-level and Intermediate/A-level examinations with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as major subjects. Those waiting for their results may also apply. However, the intermediate/A-level result with at least 60% marks or equivalent is required at the time of joining the BS program.

Admission on the basis of SAT Results

PIEAS has reserved some seats for admission in BS programs through SAT scores.

  • All Pakistani nationals of both Matric/F.Sc. or O/A Level streams are eligible to compete on the basis of SAT score.
  • Admission shall be based on SAT II result of three subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics level II)
  • The SAT score should be at least 2000 or more to be eligible for admission.
  • Merit list on the basis of SAT score shall be prepared separately for admission in BS programs.
  • SAT scores may be sent to Registrar, PIEAS at the latest by 30 June 2012.
